Bracelets

Red:: Anorexia
Purple:: Bulimia
Pink:: EDnos (Eating Disorder not otherwise specified)
Blue:: Depression
Orange/Black: SI (self injurer)
Green:: Fasting at that time
Yellow:: Suicidal
Turquoise: Overweight/Obese
Teal: Anxiety disorder/OCD/Panic disorder

if you add 1 white bead to a bracelet is means you are TRYING to recover from that illness.
if you have
half white and half the illness color in the bracelet it means you're IN recovery.

Red and White: Ana Recovery
Purple and White: Mia Recovery
Pink and White: EDnos Recovery
Blue and White: Depression Recovery
Orange/Black and White:
SI Recovery

Colors are sometimes mixed to show multiple issues: for example, a bulimic who cuts would alternate purple and black. White beads are sometimes included to represent Recovery. (I am going to make a pink, red, turquoise and teal one. I will also make a green one for when I fast.

Sometimes, dragonfly charms are used, but these are primarilly associated with the ProAna movement. (Rarely, a firefly is associated with pro-recovery.)

I personally am unsure how long these bracelets have existed, but they seem to have been around as early as 2001, and possibly earlier. It is possible that members of ProAna groups like Blue Dragonfly originated the idea.
